“A Dickens Holiday feels like stepping into the heart of a story we all already love. It’s about light, community, and the joy of slowing down to celebrate together before the season rushes in. For more than two decades, Fayetteville has gathered downtown on the Friday after Thanksgiving to begin the holidays in the warmest, most human way possible — by sharing a timeless story, “A Christmas Carol,” along with music and dance from our community, good food, and the simple pleasure of finding the perfect gifts for our loved ones.
It isn’t just an event; it’s a love letter to downtown Fayetteville — to the shopkeepers, artisans, and neighbors who make this place come alive year after year. Every year, I watch that moment when the candles glow, the crowd and carolers sing, and the streets fill with light — and it still takes my breath away. That’s the heart of A Dickens Holiday — hope and joy in the light we share.”
